  • 7 ingredients
  • 6 steps

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive or sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar or white wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Step-by-step preparation

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the soy sauce, oil, vinegar, honey or brown sugar, garlic, ginger and black pepper.
  2. Stir well until all the ingredients are combined.
  3. Pour the marinade over the protein you want to marinate and make sure it’s completely covered.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes and up to 24 hours so the protein absorbs the flavors.
  5. When you’re ready to cook, remove the protein from the marinade and discard the excess liquid.
  6. Grill, bake or cook the protein however you like.

Enjoy your delicious soy-marinated protein!
