- 9 steps
Ingredients
- 1 large round loaf
- 200 g grated cheese (any cheese you like)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs (oregano, thyme, rosemary or any herb you like)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Step-by-step preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- With a serrated knife, slice the bread without cutting all the way through to the bottom.
- Turn the bread 90 degrees and slice again, without cutting through to the bottom.
- Repeat until the whole loaf is cut into a grid.
- Gently open up the bread so the pieces are separated but still joined at the base.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the herbs and a little salt and pepper.
- Spoon the herb butter between the slices and sprinkle the grated cheese over the bread, making sure it gets into all the gaps.
- Bake for about 15–20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and golden.
- Serve hot and enjoy your pull-apart flower bread.
