Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup strong coffee
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Step-by-step preparation

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar over medium-high heat. Stir until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  2. Add the strong coffee. Stir and reduce the heat to medium-low.
  3. Cook for about 10–15 minutes, until thickened to a syrupy consistency.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat and add the vanilla extract. Stir well until fully incorporated.
  5. Let the syrup cool to room temperature before using. It keeps in an airtight container in the fridge for a few days.
