- 5 steps
Ingredients
To make banana and mango ice cream you’ll need:
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 ripe mango
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Step-by-step preparation
Peel the bananas and mango and cut them into small pieces. Spread them on a baking tray and freeze for 2–3 hours, until completely frozen.
In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk, cream and sugar until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
Pour the milk mixture into a blender or food processor. Add the frozen banana and mango and blend until smooth. Add the vanilla extract and blend again.
Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn following the manufacturer’s instructions. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and stir it every half hour until smooth and creamy.
Serve the ice cream in bowls or cones, garnished with pieces of mango or banana to bring out the tropical flavor. It’s a delicious dessert or snack all year round, and a creative way to add fresh fruit to your diet.
