Fig and almond chocolate bonbons

  • 6 ingredients
  • 10 steps

Ingredients

  • 200 g dried figs
  • 100 g raw almonds
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 100 g dark melting chocolate

Step-by-step preparation

  1. Soak the dried figs in warm water for about 15–20 minutes to soften.
  2. Grind the almonds in a food processor until finely chopped.
  3. Drain the figs and blend them in the same food processor with the honey, coconut oil and cinnamon until you have a smooth paste.
  4. Add the chopped almonds to the fig paste and mix well.
  5. Roll the fig and almond mixture into small balls and place them on a tray lined with parchment paper.
  6. Refrigerate the balls for about 30 minutes, until they firm up a little.
  7. Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of hot water on medium-low heat (a double boiler).
  8. Dip each fig and almond ball into the melted chocolate, coating it completely.
  9. Return the coated balls to the lined tray and refrigerate for about 30 minutes, until the chocolate has fully set.
  10. Once set, store the bonbons in an airtight container in a cool, dry place until ready to serve.

Enjoy your fig and almond bonbons! They’re a healthier alternative to conventional sweets, made with natural ingredients and no artificial preservatives.
