For the frosting
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Step-by-step preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350 °F (175 °C) and grease two 9-inch cake pans.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the milk, oil, eggs, vinegar and vanilla until well combined.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Add the pink food coloring and mix until you have a smooth pink batter.

- Add the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla and beat until the frosting is smooth and creamy.
- Add the pink food coloring and mix until the frosting is a soft pink.
- Place one cake on a cake plate and cover the top with a generous layer of pink frosting.
- Place the second cake on top and cover the whole cake with the remaining frosting. Smooth it with a spatula.
- Decorate with fresh strawberries, chocolate chips or any decoration you like.
