Modeling chocolate

  • 2 ingredients
  • 3 steps

Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340 g) semisweet or milk chocolate
  • 1/3 cup corn syrup

Step-by-step preparation

  1. Melt the chocolate in a large microwave-safe bowl, heating it in 30-second bursts and stirring after each one, until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Add the corn syrup to the melted chocolate and mix well with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a smooth, pliable dough.
  3. Transfer the modeling chocolate to a sheet of plastic wrap and wrap it well. Let it rest at room temperature for at least 2 hours before using it for decorations.

Modeling chocolate is very versatile and can be used for all kinds of chocolate decorations, such as figures, flowers and letters. You can also color it with gel or paste food coloring to create different shades. Its texture is similar to fondant, so you can use modeling tools to add textures and details. It firms up at room temperature, so work quickly and keep it covered with plastic so it doesn’t dry out.

Enjoy making beautiful decorations with modeling chocolate and surprise your friends and family with your decorating skills!
