Marshmallow fondant

  • 4 ingredients
  • 5 steps

Ingredients

  • 450 g marshmallows
  • 900 g powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Extra powdered sugar, for dusting

Step-by-step preparation

  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the marshmallows and water.
  2. Heat in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring after each one, until the marshmallows are completely melted and smooth.
  3. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition, until the mixture forms a smooth, pliable dough. You can knead it by hand or use a stand mixer with the dough hook.
  4. Dust your work surface with powdered sugar and knead the fondant for a few minutes until smooth and pliable.
  5. Wrap the fondant in plastic wrap and let it rest at room temperature for at least 1 hour before using it to decorate your desserts.

Marshmallow fondant is very versatile for decorating desserts, as it’s easy to color and shape. Its sweet marshmallow flavor also makes it a favorite with kids and anyone with a sweet tooth. Use it to cover cakes, make figures or flowers, or top cupcakes and cookies. It can be stickier and more fragile than traditional fondant, so always work on a surface dusted with powdered sugar. Enjoy creating beautiful decorations with marshmallow fondant for your favorite desserts!
