- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Step-by-step preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, mix the flour, baking soda and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and keep beating until well combined.
- Add the flour mixture in three parts, mixing well after each addition, until a smooth dough forms.
- Divide the dough into equal portions, one for each color you want to use. Add a few drops of gel or paste food coloring to each portion and knead well until the color is even.
- Shape each portion into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Take the dough out of the fridge and roll it into small balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet and flatten them gently with your hand to form round cookies.
- Decorate each cookie with colored sprinkles, making bold, fun designs.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until golden at the edges.
- Let the cookies cool on the sheet for a few minutes before moving them to a rack to cool completely.
