Porsche crest cake
- 11 ingredients
- 11 steps
Ingredients
For the base
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the chocolate filling
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup dark chocolate pieces
For the decoration
- 1/2 cup icing
- Red and black food coloring
- Aluminum foil
Step-by-step preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350 °F (175 °C) and line a 9-inch tart pan with aluminum foil.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat well to combine.
- Add the flour and salt and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Press the dough into the bottom of the lined pan and bake in the preheated oven for about 25–30 minutes, until the base is golden and firm to the touch.
- Meanwhile, make the chocolate filling. Heat the cream in a saucepan over medium heat until hot but not boiling. Remove from the heat, add the chocolate pieces and stir until melted and smooth.
- Pour the chocolate filling over the cooled base and let it set for about 30 minutes.
- While the tart cools, make the icing: mix it with a few drops of black food coloring until dark gray.
- Remove the tart from the pan and place it on a cake board. Using a sharp knife, cut two triangles from the top of the tart to create the shape of the Porsche crest.
- Use a brush to paint the cut areas with red food coloring to create the Porsche logo. Then use a piping bag with a small tip to add more detail around the crest.
- Let the icing dry for a few minutes before serving.
This Porsche crest cake is a fun, delicious idea for anyone who loves cars and baking. The soft base, creamy chocolate filling and decorative icing make a cake that’s as impressive as it is tasty.
